EMPLOYMENTS DEMANDS

The Offshore sector remains buoyant with a high level of demand for experienced design and engineering personnel.

There is also at present a large need for semi-skilled personnel such as roustabouts, deck hands, welders, sandblasters, electricians etc.

Catering personnel such as chefs, cooks, kitchen staff are also in great demand.

A key area of development is in the subsea sector with major project work being undertaken in the Far East, West Africa and the Gulf of Mexico. As a result the demand for all disciplines associated with subsea engineering is high - these include Pipeline Engineers, Subsea Designers, Tree Specialists, Analysis Engineers, Installation & Construction Specialists, Drilling Engineers, Project Engineers, Integrity Engineers and Corrosion & Inspection engineers.

Although subsea development is a very strong sector, it is not alone. Oiljobs.cc has also had several requirements across the offshore industry encompassing jacket, topside and FPSO projects. A high demand exists for Engineers and Designers across all disciplines, including structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, controls, instrumentation, HVAC, analysis and naval architecture. This is also accompanied by increased recruitment activity across project services and site disciplines in terms of planning, quality, cost, reliability, commissioning, construction and fabrication for example.
